March is shaping up to be an absolute blast on Xbox Gamers. From indie darlings to jaw-dropping AAA titles and all-new additions to your favorite sports games, this month’s lineup is stacked with excitement.
And while there are tons of new games coming out, I have shortlisted the top 21 best upcoming Xbox games that you should be excited about this month.
1. The Mobius Machine – March 1
The Mobius Machine is a good-looking 3D side-scrolling adventure game set in a vast and mysterious alien world known as Isolaria. In this game, you take on the role of an explorer navigating through diverse biomes, from desolate landscapes to underwater depths and floating forests.
The Mobious Machine features seamless exploration mechanics and challenging gunplay, allowing you to discover hidden secrets and well… shoot a ton of alien creatures and obstacles along the way, including hostile fauna, infected colonists, and malfunctioning machines. If you are into action platformers, Mobius Machine might actually be a good option for you when it drops for Xbox on March 1.
2. Classified: France ’44 – March 5
Then we have Classified France ‘44, a turn-based strategy game that throws you right into the heart of battle during World War 2. This one lets you play the Commander of a special-ops team comprised of Allied commandos and French resistance fighters battling it out against the German forces. As for the gameplay, Classified France 44 features intense turn-based battles relying heavily on decision-making and strategic planning.
You get to recruit, train, customize, and command operatives with a variety of skills and weapons. And even build their morale by spending time around the campfire and learning about their personal stories when the heat dies down a little. The game comes packed with over 45 unique, real-life-inspired missions that will keep you hooked for quite a while.
3. Expeditions: A MudRunner Game – March 5
Expeditions A MudRunner game caught my eye for its unique premise. In this game, you are not racing against other players or showing off your crazy stunts in the mud; instead, you lead research missions through the expansive open worlds from Arizona to the Carpathians in search of hidden treasures and forgotten ruins.
For that, you’ve got a wide variety of off-road vehicles and high-tech tools that help you get around uncharted lands, from arid deserts to rugged forests and steep mountains. Expeditions promise advanced physics-based gameplay systems that help you experience the thrill of off-roading in mini scout vehicles, off-road machines, and even large trucks. And did I tell you it also has vehicle customizations?
4. The Outlast Trials – March 5
The Outlast Trials is one of the most terrifying horror games coming out this year and I am definitely excited about it. In this game, you play as one of the test subjects trapped inside an experimental facility that carries out twisted experiments in brainwashing and mind control. Your goal in this game is to brave the trials without losing your sanity or… life. But it won’t be easy as the game world is filled with all kinds of dark and sinister stuff, violence, and betrayal. But the good news is, Outlast Trials lets you complete this brutal therapy with up to 3 other friends in co-op mode. The Outlast Trials arrives on Xbox on March 5, 2024.
5. Reveil – March 6
While we are on the topic of psychological horror games, let me talk about Reveil. It’s a narrative-driven psycho-thriller that puts you in the shoes of Walter, a guy who wakes up from sleep one day only to find that his wife and daughter are missing in a weird 60s-inspired circus town.
And the only way to find them is by completing 5 unique acts, each requiring you to solve increasingly challenging puzzles as you explore this dark and unsettling world around you. I must say, the visuals look really amazing with intricate details and sometimes, even clues, hidden away within them. This one drops for Xbox on March 6.
6. Abriss – March 7
ABRISS is an awesome physics-based building and destruction game that’s all about causing chaos in digital cityscapes. The game lets you build crazy structures using different parts and then smashing them into targets, just for fun. And the best part is that you can make anything you could think of – Want to make a rocket? Just slap on some thrusters, connectors, and bombs, and watch it soar through the skies just to blow up in the middle.
The destruction part in this game is super satisfying, with debris flying everywhere and buildings just crumbling to pieces. Abriss also has this cool campaign mode with seven unique worlds and a bunch of stages to keep you engaged for hours!
7. Manic Mechanics – March 7
Now, if you are looking for some co-op fun, Manic Mechanics is definitely the game to keep an eye on. It’s like Overcooked, but instead of managing and running a kitchen, you get to fix cars with three other players. Just like in Overcooked, teamwork is key here, as you and your buddies tackle 30 unique garage levels to repair as many vehicles as possible in a race against the clock.
From rusty old cars to even UFOs, you will have your hands full ALL THE TIME, with each level more chaotic and challenging than the last. But beware; as you work on repairing vehicles, expect random chaos as fuel ignites, tires explode, and even aliens come to visit you.
8. New Star GP – March 7
New Star GP is your ticket to a nostalgic trip back to good’ol days of playing classic arcade racing games with friends. Its retro visuals and fast-paced gameplay perfectly capture the essence of those beloved experiences. And the best part is that it even comes with split-screen multiplayer mode, which allows you to challenge your friends and humiliate them, just like we used to do back then. New Star GP comes packed with thrilling new races and the joy of upgrading your car and team in career mode. It brings back the simple yet thrilling fun of arcade motorsport games from the 90s.
9. Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator – March 7
Then we have Taxi Life, an upcoming driving simulation game where you play as a Taxi Driver, hustling in the vibrant city of Barcelona. You start with a small car, trying to expand your Taxi Business by transporting passengers across the city’s bustling streets. What’s exciting about this game is that it features 286 miles of accurately reproduced roads at a 1:1 scale of Barcelona.
And while Taxi Driving is all about getting your customers to their destinations as fast as you can; there are rules to follow, changing weather conditions to deal with, and traffic jams to maneuver out of. As you progress, you can also earn experience points to unlock new skills, new vehicles, and driving abilities. You can even take side missions and challenges to earn some extra bucks and customize your ride in any way you want.
10. WWE 2K24 – March 8
WWE 2K24 is one of the most anticipated games of this year, especially for all the wrestling enthusiasts out there. This latest addition to the long-running series comes packed with a ton of new and improved features and content. With WrestleMania being the central theme of the game, WWE 2K24 comes with an impressive roster of WWE Legends and current Superstars, including iconic names like Undertaker, Andre the Giant, John Cena, Roman Reigns, and many more.
The game comes packed with ultra-realistic visuals and gameplay mechanics that let you experience the intense showdowns on and off the big stage. 11. Contra: Operation Galuga – March 12
The retro classic Contra series is back with a bang. It’s called Contra Operation Galuga and it comes packed with a ton of new levels, enemies, and co-op play for up to 4 players. This reimagining of the cult classic run-and-gun action game promises to stay true to the series’ roots while introducing exciting new gameplay elements. You can expect the same fast-paced action and intense shooting as you and your friends take on waves of enemies together. Contra Operation Galuga comes out on March 12 for PC and Consoles.
12. Highwater – March 14
Then we have Highwater, an atmospheric adventure game set in a flooded, post-apocalyptic world. You, as one of the few survivors on Earth, embark on this wild journey to discover safe havens, find allies, and battle enemies as you explore the dangerous waterways by boat.
The game features an interesting turn-based puzzle-combat system that tests your wits and skills in this fight for survival. Along the way, you will also meet a cast of colorful characters, each with their own stories and problems in this post-apocalyptic world. It’s definitely a refresher in the indie adventure genre and it’s set to drop on March 14.
13. Outcast – A New Beginning – March 15
Next up is Outcast A New Beginning, a sequel to 1999’s original Outcast game. I mean, it’s been a while but I must say, it looks absolutely amazing. This sequel puts you back into the shoes of Cutter Slade, who returns to the alien world of Adelpha, only to find his fellow humans enslaved by invading robo forces. Now, your job is to fight these evil bots and save the people living there.
And for that, you have a ton of deadly weapons at your disposal. We are talking plasma guns, explosives, energy shields, and much more. You even have a cool jetpack to get around the vast open world with ease. I think this sequel is going to be a GREAT addition to the Xbox lineup for March.
14. Lightyear Frontier – March 19
Lightyear Frontier is like the ultimate space adventure for all you farming sim lovers out there. It takes the traditional farming simulator to the next level. Here, you step into the shoes of a space explorer, tasked with rebuilding society on a distant alien planet.
You get to do some seriously cool stuff in this game, such as exploring vast and gorgeous biomes, gathering all the different kinds of resources, building your base, growing crops, and even uncovering ancient secrets of this unknown world. And of course, you also get to grow your very own space garden with all kinds of funky alien plants and crops.
Now that sounds like a lot of work, right? Well, you don’t have to do it all alone. Lightyear Frontier also comes packed with a co-op multiplayer mode that lets you team up with 3 other friends. And if you happen to have Game Pass, you can play the game for free when it drops on March 19.
15. MLB The Show 24 – March 19
Then we have MLB The Show 24, that is also making its way to Xbox as a Day-One Game Pass release on March 19th. And just like every year, this new addition to the franchise promises new features, new faces, and tons of improvements. MLB The Show series is already in a very good spot, so we don’t expect many drastic changes but we can surely expect improvements across the board, especially in hitting, pitching, and fielding mechanics, just to make them more “realistic”.
And, who knows? We might even see some new legendary faces added to the roster, continuing the tradition of paying homage to baseball stars, just like the previous games. And from what I’ve gathered so far, some of the old game modes are also going to stay, including Last year’s hit Storyline Mode and Road to the Show, which was a big success.
16. Alone In The Dark (March 20)
Alone in the Dark is yet another chilling survival horror game that blends psychological horror with Southern Gothic elements to create this unique haunting experience. As some of you might have guessed already, Alone in the Dark is a reimagination of 90s cult classic horror game, where you play Emily Hartwood, a young woman trying to find her missing uncle at a spooky Derceto Manor with the help of a private investigator Edward Carnby. Along the way, you will encounter strange residents, nightmarish areas, and evil monsters. This one arrives on Xbox on March 20.

It’s a perfect game for someone who loves handiwork or building stuff. House Flipper 2 introduces new mechanics and revamps existing ones from the first game to ensure that players feel right at home in no time. You’ve got enhanced visuals, more tools, better crafting and cleaning mechanics, and a whole lot more. House Flipper 2 is set to come out on Xbox on March 21, 2024.
18. Dragon’s Dogma 2 – March 22
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the more exciting games coming out this month and for very good reasons. It’s a single-player action RPG title that puts you in the shoes of a brave warrior called Arisen, tasked with defeating the evil Dragon. But before you reach the “big boss”, you will have to complete quests, fight monsters, and explore a vast open world that is four times bigger than in the first game.
However, you are not completely alone in this wild adventure of yours – you have got allies called “Pawns,” who help you fight these nasty beasts and take on a variety of tasks. Now, if the first game is anything to go by, we can expect epic battles with intense and fast-paced combat and some seriously gorgeous visuals. Guess we will see when it comes out on March 22.
19. Planet Zoo: Console Edition – March 26
Planet Zoo Console Edition brings the ultimate zoo simulation experience to Xbox players this March 26. The game has already received tons of positive reviews for its authentic zoo management experience, featuring all kinds of different animals. You’ve got monkeys, lion cubs, elephants, alligators and many more. They even behave like their real-life counterparts to make things more realistic.
Planet Zoo lets you guys plan, build, manage, and expand your zoo empire in any way you want. The goal is to create a zoo safe enough for the animals and fun enough to attract more visitors. And you can do that using Planet Zoo’s powerful construction tools that let you carve paths, dig lakes, build structures and so much more.

If you are a South Park fan, don’t miss this one as it lands on Xbox on March 26.
21. Open Roads – March 28
Lastly, we have Open Roads, a promising story-driven adventure game that takes you on a heartfelt journey following Tess and her mom, Opal, as they uncover family secrets and rediscover old memories while hitting the road. Unlike many other story-driven adventure games, Open Roads is less about making the right choices and more about experiencing the bond between Tess and her Mom as they explore abandoned family properties, sift through dusty old photos, and dive into the past together.
And thanks to Open Roads’ dialogue system, you also get to learn about your characters’ backstories, develop their personality, and shape their journeys in any way you want. It’s like reading a beautiful hand-drawn storybook where you can actually control the narrative and the direction of your character’s journey.
