With new year, comes new games! Brace yourselves because Xbox has just announced 8 more awesome titles that are coming out in January 2024. From heart-pounding action to mind-bending adventures, this lineup is the perfect start to your gaming year.

Contents
Hell Let Loose (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – January 4Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9Figment (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9Super Mega Baseball 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC) EA Play – January 11We Happy Few (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 11Resident Evil 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16Those Who Remain (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16

Hell Let Loose (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – January 4

Hell Let Loose

Starting off, we have Hell Let Loose, one of the best World War 2 games that’s finally making its way to Game Pass. This one throws you headfirst into the chaos of war, delivering an action-packed experience within the most iconic battles of the Eastern and Western Fronts. The game has received tons of praise from fans and critics alike for its realism and emotional impact on players. It offers intense 50v50 multiplayer battles that heavily rely on strategy, tactics, and communication.

Players get to pick from 14 unique roles including Infantry, Command, Recon, and more. But unlike the casual FPS military games, each role in Hell Let Loose comes with historically accurate equipment and weapons to make it stand out from the rest. The game even features areas based on real-life battle locations for that extra bit of authenticity.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9

AC Valhalla

Now, Valhalla might not be the best Assassin’s Creed game ever but it definitely deserves our praise for its accurate depiction of Viking culture, stunning visuals, gritty and intense combat, and all that fun AC stuff that fans have come to love over the years. Valhalla is simply amazing for RPG fans who enjoy putting that extra time into their character to make it stronger and their weapons, more deadlier.

Being a Viking game, you can expect a ton of action in Valhalla as you fight intense battles, engage in epic Viking raids, build your own settlements, and storm Saxon fortresses. It’s definitely grindy compared to other games in that regard, which is a good thing for RPG lovers, but it’s shorter in length compared to Odyssey. All in all, if you have been contemplating trying it out, now might be the right time as it drops on Game Pass on January 9 for Cloud, Console, and PC.

Figment (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9

Figment game

Then we have Figment, a gorgeous-looking action-adventure game with a rather interesting story to tell. In this game, you explore the depths of the human mind and face the fears as Dusty, the brain’s courage. Figment offers a vast and colorful world that is fully hand-drawn. You get to explore this massive universe as you solve puzzles, tackle obstacles, and unlock new areas.

But as you explore new regions of the mind, you’ll encounter a cast of quirky characters, engage in intense musical battles, and face the doubts and fears that live and grow in your brain. I love how this game beautifully combines puzzle-solving gameplay with a compelling narrative that takes you on a journey of self-discovery and overcoming inner struggles. A great choice for someone who loves puzzle-adventure games with a meaningful story.

Super Mega Baseball 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC) EA Play – January 11

Super Mega Ball 4

Now, if you are a sports fan with an active Game Pass subscription, you’ve got to give Super Mega Baseball 4 a shot. It’s a super fun baseball game that offers a great mix of arcade and realism. A great choice for both hardcore baseball lovers and casual gamers. Super Mega Baseball doesn’t strive for ultra-realism, instead, it makes it easy for everyone to just pick up a controller and start playing.

This latest addition to the series also comes packed with a ton of new content, including 200+ characters inspired by former legends, new and improved animations, expanded trait systems, and 6 brand-new stadiums to show off your mad baseball skills. And the best part is, you can challenge your friends in exciting cross-platform multiplayer matches. This one’s coming out to Game Pass on January 11, 2024.

We Happy Few (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 11

We Happy Few

We Happy Few is yet another unique action-adventure game that throws you into strange alternate 1960s England, that is filled with dark humor and psychological twists. The story unfolds through multiple characters, each with their own unique perspectives, missions, and side quests. Your task in this game is to uncover the dark secrets about this society that’s flooded with a mysterious substance called Joy.

In doing so, you will encounter challenging survival elements, engage in stealth gameplay, and meet some super weird characters that spark up some pretty hilarious conversations. It’s the mix of dark humor and real-life issues that I think makes We Happy Few totally different from the rest of the adventure games I’ve played in a while. It tells a thought-provoking story that highlights issues of individuality, and the consequences of a society built on deception.

Resident Evil 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16

Resident Evil 2

Then we have Resident Evil 2, one of THE finest horror survival horror games of all time. This classic horror adventure game puts you in control of a rookie cop Leon Kennedy and a college student, Claire Redfield stuck in a plague-infested Raccoon City. With breathtaking visuals, modern gameplay mechanics, and a compelling narrative, this revisit to old-school classic is a must-have experience.

The game’s been completely revamped from scratch to include modernized controls and over-the-shoulder perspective that enhance the impact and tension, making every encounter with these nightmarish creatures more intense. Resident Evil 2 also introduces some brand-new puzzles and mysteries, while including the original to create this fine mix of nostalgia and fresh surprises. It’s coming out on Game Pass on January 16 for Cloud, Console and PC.

Those Who Remain (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16

Those Who Remain

Last but not least, we have Those Who Remain, yet another impactful psychological horror game that puts you in the shoes of Edward Turner, a guy who finds himself trapped in the mysterious town of Dormont. A dark and strange place that is filled with otherworldly horrors where light is your only hope for survival. Those Who Remain isn’t your traditional horror game –  it’s all about making moral choices and facing the consequences as you strive for redemption.

The whole story unfolds through a series of unsettling events that, of course, are triggered by your actions and choices. Now, it’s not a perfect game in any way – it has its issues. But seeing how it’s developed by an Indie dev, it’s a decent experience for those who enjoy a good mystery and narrative-driven adventure.
